Infinite Dusk

INFINITE DUSK is the second instalment of HHAARRPP and JNXYZ’s ongoing sonic-cinema project called INFINITE DREAMS, melding abstracted, mirrored landscape film with hypnotic quadraphonic electronica and vocal looping.
This is set to be an expansive, mesmerising experience for your whole body. Come early and score a comfy cushion on the floor of the Turbine Platform. Or experience this audio-visual sensation from one of the balconies.
HHAARRPP is the electronica project of sonic-spatial- social artist Luke Jaaniste who works on many solo projects as well as organisations including Super Critical Mass, Theatre of Thunder and Mesmerism Inc. JNXYZ
is moniker of mobile technologist, digital educator and visual image maker Jonathan Nalder. Their collaborations stretch back to uni days in the late 1990s, and most recently they have turned to the field of music-cinema.

1 DEGREE // 2 DEGREE

At 1 DEGREE all artists will be within one degree of separation from the curator, then for 2 DEGREE each of these artists will in turn select an artist within one degree of separation of herself, creating an outwardly reaching network of female creative practices that span visual art, photography, performance, architecture, writing, graphic design and more.
1 DEGREE // 2 DEGREE will be accompanied by an exhibition catalogue that captures in their own words each artist’s experience of practicing in Brisbane.
Come along to hear, see, read, feel and support what Brisbane’s women have to offer.

BAMBUILD

FRAGMENT | META

Fragment | Meta is a distributed dance performance rebooted for the Z9 exterior. Combining a range of creative methodologies, and digital tools and processes Fragment| Meta alters the dancers’ morphologies through a site responsive layer within the choreographed work. The location functions as a series of potential inputs that impact upon the existing choreography. These inputs affect the sequence of movements, duration and impulses within the work. Fragment | Meta is an experimental and agile performance that draws on Boolean style statements of action and re-action thus offering a further scoring process for the dancers to continually shift and be directed by. Fragment | Meta seeks to enable the dancers to be agents within the space and for the site and audience to be intrinsic data-sets that the dancers mine as potential fields for movement innovations and disruptions.

Paste ‘Em High

In this workshop you will learn about street art practice principles, begin to explore how to create your own paste-up art, and start mapping out your first visual campaign. You will be assigned dedicated time to practise your new skills on our pop-up graf wall and develop a public campaign with impact.
Celebrated across the globe, street art has become a meaningful carriage of artistic expression and discussion between artists and their communities. Street artists often create artworks as a visual campaign, where multiple elements of the artwork are strategically placed in public spaces to communicate to a broader public. Predominantly, street art carries a political tone or social message; this is often one of the key motivations for street artists to spread their work across the city.
