Superordinary Artist Talks

SUPERORDINARY ARTIST TALK: ARTIVISM | Sunday 2 May

Join us for a discussion with visual artists working in the industry to bring about conversation and change in areas of mental health, identity, cultural resurgence, and political justice. Facilitated by American-Australian artist, Illma Gore, who has famously created political statements through drawing, street art and body art, this talk will bring to light the powerful intersection of art and activism. Arrive intrigued and leave inspired as you gain an insight into the creative careers and ideas of the artists responsible for the latest artworks popping up around Brisbane!

SUPERORDINARY ARTIST TALK: AI HUB | Monday 3 May

‘Visualising AI: Science Meets Street Art’ is designed to canvass authentic public discourse around creation and use of Artificial Intelligence. The project pairs Queensland’s leading AI experts with up-and-coming street artists, culminating in four legacy murals across Greater Brisbane.

Join Lee Constable in conversation with some of the artists and scientists involved in this interesting project – including artists, Damien Kamholtz, Emily Devers and Madeline Holt and AI Experts, Janet Wiles, Felipe Gonzalez, Scott Chapman and Dr Sue Keay.

While you’re at Superordinary, you can also experience the Within These Walls exhibition on level 2 and see the many murals painted within the building during a three-day livestream in 2021!
