There will be two rounds of the art battle project; one on the second Sunday of the festival and the second at the Festival Closing Party on Friday 17th of May. We’ll see the iconic Scribble Slam return in Ric’s Backyard and the Toombul Centre. The event showcases two artists battling against each other, working with a 90 minute time limit, and each creating their own artwork on a large canvas. The first Scribble Slam will host the incredible talents of Zurik and Kristopher Ho, while the second will be an incredible battle between the duo Sheep Chen and SorTwo. Each will be hosted by Shani Finch, who will give attendees an unmissable blow by blow of the street artists in action.
The two artists can use whichever medium they like to create an artwork, and will be completely unaware of what they are going to paint until the timer begins! This element of ‘unknown’ lends Scribble Slam a sense of intensity and shows a unique perspective into the artists creative process that draws a diverse crowds of art appreciators
