Initially a disgruntled tradesman, Jarad hung up the hammer some years ago to answer the call of the paint slinging, brush-dipping, salacious and often maniacal nomad that rang ceaselessly from within. Now slightly less disgruntled, and possibly (perhaps impossibly) more salacious, he earns a living as a muralist, travelling Australia in his humble caravan – ‘the vanborghini’. Most of Jarad’s mural work can be found throughout regional Queensland, NSW, and Tasmania, with oil paintings in private collections internationally. Depicting mainly portraits and still-lifes on a large scale, Jarad’s work focuses mainly on representational painting and realism inspired by a background in historical European art studies & practice.
